Dear Wife

i now sit Down to right you a few Lines to Let you know that i ame very well at presant and hope theas few Lines will find you the same
Mr. Davenport and myself went and Got our Picture taken yesterday so i thought i would send it to you i Should have sent it Before But i could not Git the money till yestarday i Borrowd it of Lutenant Firsman thair is some talk of all the solgars Gitting a furlow to Go home if it is so I shall trey and Gitt one i got the Box Yesterday and Got my Clothes all right and I ware my old hat

every thing Came very well all But the Bread an Pie that moldad thoe we eat some of it A S Green and me we have soft Bread hear now 4 times a weak and we Live a Good Deal Better than we have Don i Cant think of much more to right onley you tell Doctor Harris that i will Give him 50 Dollars or you will if he will Git me my Discharge
thair is one man that went home out of our company and that is Leavie Vanseaik the Doctor from Gansfarth came after him and they Let him have a furlow for ten Days and that is the Last of him i think But if i can Git a furlow i shall come home and then i ame all right So Good By for this time This from your truly Belvid
